Project Information
Bensalem High School
The modernization and expansion of Bensalem Township High School, designed by EI Associates, was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification by the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in September 2020. Isett was the civil engineering consultant in the project that constructed a natatorium addition, renovated the building to create four academies, and included an outdoor courtyard.
The project achieved 68 points in LEED, the Green Building Rating System developed by the USGBC to encourage environmental awareness among government agencies, architects, engineers, developers, and builders. Points achieved with Isett’s design included stormwater design/quantity control, site development/maximize open space, and site master plan.
The project included extensive site improvements and modifications to the campus entrance and surrounding traffic patterns. Paul Schmoll, PE, LEED AP, was the civil engineering project manager. Located in lower Bucks County, Bensalem Township High School serves nearly 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12.
