Our mission is to deliver outstanding quality and service with associates that are highly motivated, well-trained, and focused on consistently pleasing our clients. We uphold core values of Team, Ownership, Balance, and Service.
Every month, Isett associates nominate a fellow employee who is demonstrating Isett Values through our Values in Action survey, providing an opportunity to recognize their colleagues for their commitment.
By embracing and demonstrating our shared values, Isett associates deliver multi-discipline services that enrich our communities.
Team
People are our most important asset, and Isett values the abilities and unique qualities that each associate contributes as an integral member of the team. We serve as one cohesive team, while at the same time, serve on many teams across departments, projects, and regions. We encourage our employees to grow professionally and take on new challenges and we support them with a company culture based on shared responsibilities, shared leadership, and shared rewards.
We seek to hire people that are as interested in the business side of engineering as the technical side—people who know the importance of good communication skills and taking the time to fully understand a client’s needs. By growing strategically, hiring the right talent, and treating our employees well, we enjoy a low turnover rate near 5%, far below the regional and national averages
Ownership
In 1998, Isett instituted an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) because we believe that employee ownership is a catalyst in providing an extra measure of client-centered service. Our associates act as owners of the company and take personal responsibility for projects and relationships.
Our greatest satisfaction comes from the ongoing relationships we have developed over time – a direct result of the ownership that team members demonstrate with each client. About 80 percent of our workload is the result of repeat business from existing clients, which demonstrates a high level of satisfaction in the quality of our work.
Balance
Isett strives to maintain balance in work and life, and among clients, regions, and market sectors. Isett has been recognized as a Best Place to Work in PA since 2019, Morning Call Top Workplace annually since 2013 (with special recognition for work-life balance), a Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplace since 2022, and a recipient of the Societas Award for Responsible Corporate Conduct (2015).
We strive to maintain a staff utilization rate around 70%, which ensures that our team can adequately serve our clients while maintaining a manageable workload so they can recharge with family when the day is done.
Service
We recognize the importance of serving our clients, our communities, and each other. Our success in providing the level of service that clients deserve lies in the hands of every Isett team member. Isett is proud to support community events throughout our service areas, and we encourage our associates to volunteer in the communities where they live and work.
To further encourage community involvement, we offer a 50% match of volunteered time to a service day and match employee contributions to qualified organizations. Isett is a member of numerous professional & community organizations and associations in the communities we serve.
“Our growth and success are direct results of living our values—Balance, Ownership, Service and Team—every day. With 2021 being called the year of ‘The Great Resignation’ and with pretty much every company struggling to find quality people, our recruiting and retention results are outstanding. No doubt our culture and being a top workplace is having a huge positive impact on this.”
