Project Information
Bethany United Methodist Church
When the Bethany United Methodist Church sustained a three-alarm fire and associated water damage in November 2019, the congregants were dedicated to rebuilding their historic sanctuary. Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. served as the engineering consultant to HC Architects in the reconstruction of the 6,500 SF church, while Poole Anderson Construction of State College served as the project’s main contractor.
Isett’s Civil Land Development Department provided site plans and coordinated the utility connections with the local authorities as well as the design of ADA-accessible ramps. Team members from Isett’s Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing & Fire Protection department provided designs, construction documentation, and construction administration. Isett Survey professionals provided a topographic survey for the north side of the church.
Construction began approximately a year after the fire, and the sanctuary welcomed back worshipers in August 2021.
